IEEE Spectrum Content Director, Glenn Zorpette, sat down with the Argo Program’s Dr. Susan Wijffels to discuss how they are going about assessing the impact on climate change and understanding, operational oceanography, basic research in marine science, and education. Argo is an international program that collects information from inside the ocean using a fleet of robotic instruments (floats) that drift with the ocean currents and move up and down between the surface and a mid-water level.
